Fly with confidence!
What kind of custom flights are available?
There is a wide range of flight options for your to choose from. If you can think it, we can make it happen. If you want a week long cross country adventure, we could start with a flight across the grand canyon, spend the night in a luxury spa or hotel, and then go to Las Vegas for a tandem sky dive from the balloon. Anything you can dream up, if it’s possible we can make it happen.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes and shoes. We don’t dress up, and you don’t have to. Comfortable shoes are recommended because while you are in the balloon, you are standing.
Is it colder/warmer up there?
The weather in the sky is about the same as the temperature on the ground. We experience less wind, since we are traveling with the wind.
How long does a flight last?
The flights usually last about one hour, sometimes up to 1 1/2. The whole process usually takes 2 1/2 up to 3 hours from start to finish.
What will happen?
We’ll meet at a prearranged location. We pick you up in our chase vehicle and take everyone, plus the balloon trailer, to the take off spot. There we roll the basket out of the trailer, assemble it and lay out the balloon itself. Watching the enormous balloon fill up is quite a thrill and a big part of the fun! Your participation at any point is welcomed but not required.
How long will we be airborne?
Every flight is different. Approximately 1 – 1.5 hours.
What should I bring?
A camera! Please don’t bring along anything unnecessary as we don’t need any extra weight.
Where will we go?
Every flight is different! Where we go depends on the available wind. We do have some measure of control in that different wind directions and speeds are available depending on our altitude.
How many people can go?
We can take one person to however many you want to take with multiple balloons.
Who can go ballooning?
We have flown people in wheelchairs (by using a climbing harness) and our oldest client was 98 years old & our youngest was 6 months ( my son). Anyone who is able to get in the balloon, climb up the side (about 4 foot high) and stand for the duration of the flight (or with special accessories). Children are welcome; a one-to-two adult supervisor-per-child ratio is required for small children 6 & under.
How much experience does the pilot have?
Our pilots have a commercial license / all with decades of experience. Usually, they are very familiar with the terrain as we often fly in the same areas again and again.
Is it dangerous?
Ballooning is thousands of times safer than an automobile. We fly over 200 hours a year ( a lot for a balloon pilot). Every flight will be unique. We can say that in our twenty-four years of flying we’ve never had an accident.
What is landing like?
Usually landing is only a soft bump. If we’re in a populated area, everyone who sees us is delighted to have a balloon landing in their neighborhood! When you’re in a balloon, you’re an instant celebrity.
